Cassia Bicapsularis

L.
Bicho (C); Bombito (C); Cafe de pobre (C). Toasted seeds are used as a coffee substitute. The plant is regarded as antiasthmatic, antihemorrhoidic, febrifugal, laxative, and insecticidal. In Costa Rica, stems and leaves are used with roots of ratania to treat piles.
